Feast, the London Craft Beer Festival and Oxjam Brixton take place in the capital this weekend, reports LondonTown.com

(TRAVPR.COM) UK - August 15th, 2013 - Feast Festival, the final summer instalment from the Foodies Festival team, takes place at Battersea Park this weekend and promises to be a tasty picnic extravaganza. Serving up the UK's largest selection of restaurant, street and artisan food at one venue, the event boasts pop up restaurants, street food vendors, artisan producers, farmers' markets, vintage tea rooms, seaside food vendors and BBQ tents. With liquid-nitrogen ice creams and sorbets, cream teas, a hog roast and exotic meats, there will be something for all tastes.

Also treating London's palate this weekend will be the London Craft Beer Festival, welcoming eighteen world-class brewers and over 100 superb beers to Oval Space in Bethnal Green. In recognition of all the great beers being made in the UK, the festival brings brewers from both the UK and Europe together under one roof. Visitors can not only sample a number of beers, there will also be the opportunity to feast on street food from local companies Ginger Pig, E5 Bakehouse and Gelupo, with dishes created using inspiration from the beers. Visitors travelling from outside of the capital can enjoy both festivals across the weekend by booking one of many London hotels on LondonTown.com.

Bringing a whole host of international artists to London, the Global Beats Festival offers four days of uplifting world music this week. Taking place at Wilton's Music Hall, the event celebrates the cultural diversity of London with musicians from six continents. Live performances can also be enjoyed at the Oxjam Brixton Rooftop Launch Party on Sunday. Hosting gigs with the intention of raising money for charity, Oxjam has now been running since 2006 and with everything from intimate candlelit gigs to mountain top concerts, has raised over £2million.

Taking place at The Lambeth in Brixton, Sunday’s concert invites Elly Jackson of La Roux and Maxi Jazz to Faithless perform. Additionally, more music can be found at the Canary Wharf Jazz Festival at Canada Square Park, London’s largest free jazz festival with three days of live performances from both world-class artists and rising stars.

Eid al-Fitr, the global Muslim festival which marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, is celebrated on Saturday with the Eid Festival. Taking place in Trafalgar Square, the day incorporates live music, food stalls, exhibitions and displays about Islam, providing a vibrant and uplifting occasion for everyone involved.

After taking a break last year, Hackney WickED is back this weekend and is putting the focus on its original mission: promoting London's thriving East End art scene. Through a variety of galleries, open studios, temporary exhibitions, pop up spaces and site-specific installations across the area of Hackney Wick, the three-day festival showcases local and international artists. Also in Hackney, the Backyard Cinema at London Fields Brewery continues its festival under the railway arches with more great movie screenings. Featuring classic films and new releases, the line-up includes Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Place Beyond the Pines, Avatar and Les Miserables.

The big bash for little people, the LolliBop Festival is held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this weekend. Aimed at under-10s, the festival provides a weekend of live music, circus fun and appearances from some of children’s television best loved characters.

Bargain hunters are given a treat on Saturday with the Vintage Clothes Kilo Sale. Instead of individually priced items, this sale charges according to weight and shoppers can purchase one kilo of goods for only £15, averaging at four to five pieces. Plus, wholesale Victorian vintage jewellery will be available from 50p.
