Gustavo Rivas-Solis, Vice President of ENroute Communications, is now part of the LGBT Meeting Professionals Association 2021 board
(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED STATES - January 5th, 2021 - Gustavo Rivas-Solis, Vice President of ENroute Communications, is now part of the LGBT Meeting Professionals Association (LGBT MPA) 2021 board. Announced by LGBTM MPA on Dec. 15, 2020, the new board took their seats on Jan. 1, 2021.
The LGBT MPA (www.lgbtmpa.com) is the first and only organization solely committed to the professional advancement of LGBT meeting professionals. Statistically, there are an estimated 100,000 meeting professionals currently practicing in the United States. LGBT MPA predicts that, in the U.S., 8,000 to 12,000 of these professionals working in the field are members of the LGBT community. Globally, the current estimate is 18,000 to 23,000.
Led by LGBT MPA Chair Derrick Johnson, II, CMP, DES, Director, Event Strategy and Chief Diversity Officer for Tally Management Group (TMG), the organization’s nominating committee met virtually in September to determine the slate of the 2021 board officers and directors for the open positions. The final board was elected in November of 2020.
Rivas-Solis will assist the board primarily with public relations initiatives, well as other communications-focused efforts. He also sits on the board of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA).
