Cosmo Hotel, Hong Kong Activates ‘Dorsett Cares Promise’ to Safeguard the Safety and Wellbeing of All Hotel Guests and Staff

(TRAVPR.COM) HONG KONG - October 15th, 2020 - As COVID-19 swept around the globe, many hotels in Wan Chai Hong Kong have heightened their hygiene and safety measures to attune to the ‘new normal’ of the tourism industry. In this light, the Cosmo Hotel Hong Kong has activated the #DorsettCares Promise to reassure guests a worry-free environment in the best Hong Kong hotel with hygiene measures.

The Cosmo Hotel has been referencing hospital hygiene guidelines for its safety and hygiene protocols since the very onset of the outbreak. “We’ve partner with Ecolab, a global leader in infection prevention solutions and expertise, and use their Ecolab’s Disinfectant Cleaner 2.0* to comprehensively clean and disinfect high touch areas in public areas, as well as all guest rooms and the air-conditioning system.” Said Ms Anita Chan, the General Manager of Cosmo Hotel, Hong Kong.

*Ecolab’s Disinfectant Cleaner 2.0 is a germicidal /virucide detergent effective in killing 30 pathogens. This product is registered by the US Environmental Protection Agency as reliable and safe.

Upgraded Hygiene and Safety Measures at Cosmo

Independent Pipes for Air-conditioning, Drainage and Ventilation System in all Guest Rooms

The air conditioners installed in all 142 hotel rooms use a fan coil unit system. This type of system places the unit consisting of the fan and the coil directly in the guest room. This means each guestroom has its own independent pipe, which connects to the main fan on the roof of all hotels, allowing fresh air to be drawn from the outside to each room, and through an air filter disinfected with Ecolab’s medical grade disinfectant.

All drain outlets are regularly disinfected with 1:99 bleach water and the hotel sewage pipe system is discharged through an independent drainage pipe and vent system.  Since there is an independent pipe supplying fresh air to each room, this prevents negative pressure on the airflow and the U-shaped traps from drying out.

Daily Professional Cleaning & Sanitizing

Sparkling clean is not a hype here – it is the basic standard that the hotel adheres to. The hotel boasts a team of well-trained and diligent housekeepers who will make sure every guest room is cleaned and sanitized with Ecolab’s Disinfectant Cleaner 2.0 using different colors of cleaning cloth every day. Cosmo Hotel is indeed the best Hong Kong hotel with hygiene measures.

On top of that, the housekeepers will use Ecolab disinfectant sprayer to sterilize every checked out room prior to every new guest’s arrival.

Test Kits Available 24/7

Cosmo has partnered with Prenetics, a leading global genetic testing and digital health company, to make Project Screen by Circle - The Covid-19 test kit, accessible by local communities, hotel guests, and employees 24/7. This 'Do-It-Yourself' test kit is recommended by WHO and recognized by the Hong Kong government, with an analytical accuracy of 99.9%. It allows users to be tested anytime, anywhere, with results available within 24-48 hours with a daily laboratory cut-off time of 5 pm.

The Standard Hygiene and Safety Guidelines 

Apart from the above, the hotel has been following a series of precautionary measures since the onset of COVID-19, which include:

●        Using Ecolab disinfectant cleaner 2.0 to clean air con air outlets/return nozzles and dust filters every day

●        Multiple disinfectant and anti-epidemic sprayers are installed within hotel areas

●        Increase the cleaning and disinfection frequency of public areas and facilities to once every hour

●        All public areas in the hotel are providing 70-80% alcohol-based hand rub/gel for guest and staff use, and providing a refill service for guests to use when going out

●        A dedicated queue for all arriving guests to take a body temperature scan and fill out a health condition and travel history survey

●        All staff on duty are required to wear surgical masks, and depending on the job function of the staff,  further provide them with additional anti-pandemic equipment (including eye protection, protection gown and gloves)

●        All staff reporting for duty will need to have a body temperature scan
