23-day Global Adventure takes Travelers On a Blind Date with the World

(TRAVPR.COM) US - December 9th, 2015 - SANTA MONICA, USA- The annual travel adventure that has something for every adventurous traveler, just added a new twist.

Not only is it A Blind Date with the World™ with ten Top Secret destinations; a real-life Amazing Race-like travel competition with winners and losers that crowns The World’s Greatest Travelers™; a circumnavigation of the globe in one trip; and a highly participatory culturally-oriented treasure hunt — The Global Scavenger Hunt will attempt to visit all six major continents on the 2016 edition.

“We would visit Antarctica too, but there just aren’t many good restaurants there. Also asking penguins for directions is problematic,” chuckles William D. Chalmers the Event Director. “Seriously, we have visited over 65 countries so far and we wanted to shake things up in 2016 by conducting The Global Scavenger Hunt across six continents. It will be a challenge for all—including us. As I always say, people don’t take adventures—adventures take people—and the best ones take them out of their comfort zones.”

The Global Scavenger Hunt, now in its 12th edition, is set to take just fifteen two-person teams around the world visiting at least ten countries over the three week adventure beginning April 15, 2016. The world travel championship’s principle is that anyone can get to a place—to be somewhere—but having travelers figure things out once they get there—wherever there is?—is the ultimate adventure.

The event brings back the magic of travel by getting travelers out of their comfort zones to be creative, resourceful and enjoy the serendipity of travel. It is about using their savvy Travel IQ to complete a series of engaging and highly-participatory site-doing scavenges in a competition against other great travelers, all vying for The World’s Greatest Travelers trophy—and a FREE trip around the world. It is the ultimate authentic, participatory and challenging adventure for 2016.

The world travel championship event is life-changing for those participating.

Life-changing because not only are participants given the opportunity to live out their Indiana Jones and Amazing Race fantasies while circumnavigating the globe, but they will also be given numerous chances to do good in the world with half-day volunteering opportunities. The event also serves as a platform to raise funds to help build co-ed elementary schools in places of need.

The 23-day around the world event is limited to 15 teams of two, and the US$25,000 per team entry fee includes: all international airfare, first class hotels, 40% of meals and special event-sponsored travel gear. Single travelers are welcome to apply and all travelers will be interviewed for suitability. Please contact GreatEscape Adventures at 1.310.281.7809, or apply online at GlobalScavengerHunt.com.
