GRAND CANYON TOURS' MONSTER DEALS ON HALLOWEEN HELICOPTER, AIRPLANE RIDES
Industry: Travel Offers

Get scary great deals on fall helicopter & plane rides. Up to 35% off. Las Vegas and South Rim tours. Book early. Seats limited.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - October 19th, 2015 - This Halloween is going to be awesome for National Park travelers as Grand Canyon Tours' announces a series of special flight discounts just in time for the spookiest holiday of the year.

There are two kinds of air tours that will be discounted: Helicopters and airplanes. The special offers will be available to travelers taking tours from Las Vegas, NV, and South Rim, AZ, which is also known as Tusayan.

Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, the all-air helicopter tour will be specially priced for Halloween. This flight does not land and flies over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Colorado River and the Canyon before returning to The Strip.

This is a fantastic tour for travelers on a budget or with limited time for sightseeing. However, for vacationers looking for a more extended trip, a landing tour is advised, especially the one that includes a Champagne picnic at the bottom.

This particular landing tour can be upgraded to include a boat ride down the Colorado River and a VIP ticket to the Grand Canyon Skywalk, which is a glass bridge that lets intrepid travelers walk 70 feet over the edge while the Canyon's bottom sits 4,000 below.

The all-air airplane tour will also be on sale. It follows the same flight path as the all-air helicopter ride except it does the flight at a higher altitude. Further, airplane tours are generally less expensive, which is due to the fact that planes can accommodate up to 19 people versus 6 for a helicopter.

South Rim

Helicopter tours that land are only available from Las Vegas. At South Rim, it's air-only and there are two options from which to choose. These are the 30-minute and 50-minute flights. The shorter one goes from the South Rim to the North Rim and back. The longer does this, too, as well as everything up to the Park's east boundary.

There's only one South Rim airplane tour and it lasts 50 minutes. It follows the same flight path as the 50-minute helicopter tour except it does it a higher altitude. Planes can also accommodate 19 people and are less expensive than helicopter rides and have greater availability.

Aircraft

There are two kinds of helicopter tours: Basic and deluxe. Basic tours use standard helicopters while deluxe trips use the superior EcoStar 130. The EC 130 is preferred because it's 25 percent bigger than the standard helis. It also features stadium-style seating and a 180-degree wraparound windshield.

Halloween is a very busy time of the year at the National Park and air tours have a tendency to sell out. Travelers who want to fly during this time are urged to book flights at least a week in advance. Avoid purchasing tickets 48 hours ahead of time as the price will be higher or seats will be sold out.

It’s fall weather during Halloween. Please remember to dress accordingly. It’s cooler at the South Rim because it sits at an elevation of 7,000 feet. At West Rim, the climate can be cool but in general the weather is temperate. Rule of thumb is to dress comfortably and wear layers that can be removed as it gets warmer.
