GRAND CANYON SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT DISCOUNTS FOR MEMORIAL DAY 2015
Industry: Tours

First major summer holiday is here. If going to the Canyon, the time to book that helicopter or airplane tour is now. Up to 35 % off. Book online.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - May 20th, 2015 - Grand Canyon Day Trips, the leader in National Park tours, is offering special pricing on sightseeing flights to the Canyon during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Deals apply to helicopter and airplane tours from Las Vegas, NV, and Tusayan, AZ, which is located adjacent to the South Rim in Arizona. "The Canyon is a massive place," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Day Trips. "Flying it is the only true option."

Las Vegas

The air-only tour will be the cheapest option for travelers starting out from Vegas. It flies over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the Canyon before turning back for town.

The other tour that's priced to sell is the one that goes to the bottom for a Champagne picnic. This adventure can be extended to include a boat ride down the Colorado River. "This particular tour is always in high-demand," noted Kravitz. "Best to book it early."

The air-only airplane tour is also marked down for Memorial Day. It follows the same path as the helicopter ride but does it at a higher altitude. Further, airplanes can accommodate up to 19 people (helicopters by contrast hold only six).

There is a number of specially priced airplane landing tours. The one that typically gets the lion share of bookings comes with a helicopter ride to the bottom ad a boat ride on the Colorado. "This flight is a terrific value," noted Kravitz. "It lets the traveler see everything from top to bottom and more."

South Rim

Helicopters at this location are only allowed to fly over the Canyon. There are two kinds: the 30-minute flight and the 50-minute flight. The shorter one goes from the South Rim to the North Rim and back. The longer one does that, too, plus everything up to the eastern border."

The plane tour follows the same path as the 50-minute helicopter ride but at a higher altitude. The flight is much cheaper than the helicopter version and makes the perfect option for visitors on a tight budget.

Deluxe Flights

Deluxe helicopter tours are available from Las Vegas and South Rim. Indeed, these flights cost more but come with a lot of value-added perks like free hotel pick up and drop off, limousine service, extended Las Vegas Strip flyovers and the EcoStar 130. "The EC 130 comes with a 180-degree wraparound windshield," said Kravitz. "This ensures that all passengers get incredible panoramas of the National Park."

RSVP

Memorial Day is one of the business holidays of the year. Thus it's expected that many of these helicopter and airplane tours will sell out. In order to get seats, it's advised that visitors purchase a tour at least a week ahead of time. "Try to avoid booking a tour 48 hours in advance," noted Kravitz. "The price is higher and there's a strong chance that flights will be unavailable."
