Industry: Adventure

Everest Base Camp via Renjo La, Gokyo Lake, Cho La & Kala Patthar Trek With Marron Treks Nepal

(TRAVPR.COM) NEPAL - February 1st, 2015 - This adventure packed trip takes us amidst the fascinating panorama of the snow clad giants and the hypnotically beautiful turquoise lake of Gokyo, meandering through the stunning valleys. We continue our pumping march zealously conquering the majestic heights of the two daunting passes, the Renjo La (5340 m) and Cho La Pass (5420 m), followed by a thrilling ascent to the famed grayish monticule, the Kala Patthar (5545m), until we finally set our feet on the premises of the iconic Everest Base Camp!

This route is reckoned to be one of the busiest in Nepal. The Renjo-La lies between the Gokyo valley and the Tibetan border, Nag pa-La.  If you are one of those altitude freaks and have been craving for a nerve-racking adventure, the Everest Base Camp via Renjo La, Gokyo and Cho La Trek, is the just the perfect fit for you.

In the inception of this 22 days’ venture, we follow the classic Everest route up to Namche, from where we head towards Thame, a beautiful village and the native land of the famous mountaineer Appa Sherpa. Here, the oldest monastery in the entire Khumbu region is worth exploring.  Trekking from Namche to Thame gives you a great opportunity to witness the flamboyance of the Sherpa culture.  Noticing the Tibetan nomads and their heavily loaded yak caravans, we advance further and trudge up the Renjo La. The tills and toils that we undergo to ascend the pass are well compensated once we arrive at the fascinating milieu of the Gokyo Lake (4750m) and behold its turquoise water.  This trip is literally crammed with a flurry of energy gobbling ascents. After a well earned rest and acclimatization day at the gorgeous Gokyo, we head on to make two back to back mounts to the Cho La pass and then to the famed grayish monticule, the Kala Patthar (5545m). Keeping the ecstasy alive, we continue ahead and get to the pretty crowded, yet pleasing milieu of the very iconic, Everest Base Camp (5364m). Thus, with our experience oscillating between thrill and content, we eventually wrap up the trip with an absolutely scenic flight from Luka to Kathmandu.

Everest (8848m.), Lhotse (8516m.), Nuptse (7896m.), (Pumori 7145m.), (Amadablam 6812m.), Thamserku (6800m.), Khumbila (5751m.), Kwangde Ri (6187m.), Kangtenga (6645m.), Kusum Kangru (6369m.), Makalu (8463m.), Island Peak (6189m.), Chhukungri (5845m.), Lobuche East (6119m.), Lobuche West (6145m.), Khumbuste (6640m.), Cholatse (6640m.) and Cha Kung (7020m) will intermittently greeting you throughout the trek.
