Waterville Valley, NH – In collaboration with Waterville Valley Resort, 603 Brewery has announced the launch of a new wheat style ale called Waterville Wheat. For 603 Brewery, which originated in Campton, NH, this is their first wheat ale. Waterville Wheat will be available exclusively in Waterville Valley beginning in November.

After growing out of their original facility, 603 Brewery relocated to Londonderry in November of 2013, where they have been able to ramp up production and expand their line of brews. Along with the White Peaks, White IPA (one of 603’s original brews), Waterville Wheat is a nod to the company’s roots in the White Mountains. “603 Brewery was started in Campton, NH and many of our first customers were Waterville Valley residents,” said Geoff Hewes, General Manager of 603 Brewery. “Being able to reconnect and brew a beer specific for the Valley has been an incredible opportunity.”

After narrowing their internal trials down to two options for the final brew, 603 Brewery brought both to Waterville Valley Resort for the annual Fall Foliage Festival over Columbus Day Weekend. The two recipes were sampled and voted on by the public and the brewing begins this week. Dan Leonard, 603’s Brewing Supervisor, says the new brew is going to fit right in with the 603 line. “Brewed with an abundance of white wheat, our Waterville Wheat is an unfiltered semi-dry American wheat ale. The nose shows a touch of fresh orange peel, while on the pallet you will experience subtle sweetness reminiscent of vanilla and orange, with an herbal profile from freshly crushed coriander.  This is a very smooth après ski session ale.” The public sampling and vote were also unique for 603 Brewery. “Allowing Waterville Valley’s own fans to choose the final version of their beer has been a great twist. The Waterville Wheat has been crowd selected and will be packaged in 6-pack cans for their enjoyment.”

Canning will begin on October 29th, with distribution to follow. Waterville Wheat will make its official debut at Waterville Valley Resort’s Welcome Back to Winter Party on November 28, 2014 and will be available on draft and in cans exclusively in Waterville Valley, NH.

“We’re always proud to see local businesses take off and make an impact throughout New Hampshire and beyond,” said Chris Sununu, CEO & General Manager of Waterville Valley Resort. “We were excited when 603 approached us with this opportunity. It means a lot to be a part of both their history and their future and we know that Waterville Wheat is going to be very popular both on the mountain and in the Valley.”

Waterville Valley was designed and planned specifically as a self-contained four seasons resort. Known as New Hampshire’s Family resort, it features 220 skiable acres with an altitude of 4,004 feet and vertical drop of 2,020 feet, 50 trails, and 11 lifts.  Lodging options include country inns, condominiums and all-suite hotels.
