Liberty Holidays strives to practice a progressive form of travel which aims to benefit people and communities at the local level as well as create a more meaningful and educational travel experience based on people-to-people exchange for participants. Our goal is to continuously identify and implement new practices that will help a better redistribution of the income generated through our travel/tourist activities towards our NGO . We also hope to contribute to sustainable development projects and better understand and minimize our impact on the environment while linking local issues to the global context and learning firsthand how we can positively impact these issues.
Village Overview:
Ghalegaun village the best village among south asian villages is the perfect example of home stay (Host with local families) based sustainable tourism destination in Nepal which is situated at an altitude of 2070 m from sea level which belongs to warrior ethnic Ghale Gurung tribe. This beautiful village lies in along the round Annapurna circuit route a whole worlds as well as Nepal’s a popular trekking destination. Most of the mens serve in military groups in Nepal army, Indian army, British army as well as police services and besides that main occupation is agriculture and animal husbandry. The total houses are about 115 and majority inhabitants are Gurungs. This majestic village is only 205 km northwest of Kathmandu and 125 km northeast of Pokhara.
The rustic and traditional settlements, the ancestral home of brave Gurungs Ghale gaun lies in the Ghale Utterkanya Village development committee. The lane of roads are stone paved and clean. One can feel peace and harmony when one will be there. These days everyone is praising the place and also in these few years Ghalegaun has developed tremendously and the home stay. It has attracted many foreign as well as the domestic visitors. Ghale women normally wear blue and red attire, called ghalek and lungi and men were kachad, bakchu etc.
Hospitality of the people out there is overwhelming. The villagers welcome with red tika and garland. The concept of “Guest is God” is completely followed by the habitat of this village. Indeed 28 houses in Ghalegaun are Providing home stays facilities for two Guest at a time Per Home. The home are well furnished with Local Products & have clean wash room. Guest are served Delicious Local Food with warm respect. Guest safety & standers are always maintain by Ghalegaun Village Tourism management committee which is the active Local body playing the vital role in village .

Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu:
Our Airport representative assists you at Tribhuwan international Airport and Transfer you to the hotel and preparation for next day departure, visit local market for shopping etc, rest of time leisure and overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Ghalegaun via Besishahar:
After breakfast our volunteering leader assists you at your hotel and drive to Ghalegaun (07 hrs) drive on the way you can observe the spectacular view of village life and high snowcapped mountains with full of Natural beauty and Attending welcome program organized by mother group of ghalegaun and Overnight at selected community based houses.
Day 03: Explore Ghalegaun & Join with Sustainable Activities:
Early morning, 5 minutes walk to viewpoint tower for the terrific view of sunrise and snowcapped mountains like Manasulu range, Annapurna,lamjung Himal etc. back to house. After Breakfast, join some of volunteer activities like work in farms, English teaching in school, play with children and visit tea garden, evening join with traditional cultural show of Gurung tribe organized by mothers group or youth club and overnight at selected community based houses.
Day 04: Ghalegaun village – Kathmandu:
After Breakfast, attending farewell organized by mothers group and drive back to Kathmandu. Lunch on the way at Besisahar, at evening, farewell at typical Nepali Restaurant and overnight at Hotel.
Day 05: Final Departure:
Our Airport Representative assists you at your hotel and drive to Tribhuwan International Airport for your final departure.
Activities:
1. Part take in the botanical tea garden works
2. Visit the local forest to teach and learn about ayurvedic/medicinal plant
3. Heritage conservation
4. Overall village tourism and management activities
5. Developing Infrastructure in the village like roads community buildings etc
