WATERVILLE VALLEY SCORES WITH WORLD CUP DEAL
Industry: Resorts

To celebrate the 2014 World Cup, Waterville Valley, NH, is offering one of the few World Cup viewer packages in the Granite State.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - June 2nd, 2014 - Waterville Valley Resort, NH --The World Cup is the biggest sporting spectacle on the planet, proven by the 715.1 million people worldwide that watched the 2006 final. Every four years the best of 32 nations square off for a month long tournament – in Brazil this summer.  To celebrate the 2014 World Cup, Waterville Valley, NH, is offering one of the few World Cup viewer packages in the Granite State.

With games running almost daily from June 12th to July 13th, Waterville Valley Resort guests can be sure they won’t miss a match with the resort’s free World Cup package. At check-in, guests staying at Waterville Valley lodging properties will receive a printed viewing guide with World Cup game times and channels.  As São Paulo is only one-hour head of Eastern Standard Time, most games will be broadcast in the afternoon or in the evening – and live.

At Legends 1291 Sports Grille, a variety of wide screen and projection TVs will broadcast every game – even those being played simultaneously.  Legends, which is located in Waterville Valley’s Town Square, is easily accessible by foot from all lodges and hotels.

“Since 1989, Legends had been the sports bar here in the Valley, and we are excited to offer every game, as well as food, snacks and good cheer,” said Legends owner Tom Gross.

Games will also be shown in the Blue Moon Café, PotBellies, and PigPens – all located in Town Square.  All three businesses will offer game time specials, as well as drinks.

Waterville Valley will offer pick-up soccer games on the resort’s regulation-size soccer field, and children’s events will be offered during some games at the resort’s Recreation Department. Call the Rec Department of more info on programs and using the soccer field (603) 236-4695.

“We enjoy having vacationing guests from all over; but we also get a lot of Brazilian guests who told us that they don’t want to miss a minute of the World Cup So, we are making sure that all of our guests can enjoy the hiking, biking, golf, tennis, swimming, and fun that Waterville Valley is well known for, and they don’t have to miss any of the World Cup games,” said Matt Hesser, president of the Waterville Valley Resort Association.

Waterville Valley was designed and planned as a self-contained, four-season resort. Today, in addition to its world-class ski area, Waterville Valley Resort has an award-winning tennis center, family-friendly golf course, hiking, biking, lodging, arts and cultural activities, an indoor ice arena, boating, and a skate park. Dining options include both traditional favorites and elegant eateries. For more information, call 800-468-2553 or visit www.visitwatervillevalley.com.
