Spring into the school holidays with lots of free family entertainment during the second annual Fringe Festival in Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

(TRAVPR.COM) AUSTRALIA - August 13th, 2013 - Spring into the school holidays with lots of free family entertainment during the second annual Fringe Festival in Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The Fringe Festival offers 11 days of diverse activities from Friday, September 27 through to Monday, October 7, which is perfect timing for the September school holidays throughout Australia.

An array of Festival events is hosted at over 16, mostly open air, venues in and around the scenic foreshore parks of Kings Beach, Bulcock Beach, Happy Valley, and the Central Business District.

Caloundra tourism industry spokesperson Bill Darby said the Fringe Festival activities were organised by local businesses, community organisations and clubs with many of the offerings to be enjoyed free of charge.

“The Fringe Festival offers a rich program of entertainment which I am sure will have lots of memorable moments and something to interest and excite everyone visiting Caloundra,” Mr Darby said.

A sample of offerings not to be missed includes:

Raw Sounds on Friday, September 27, in Lions Park from 10am-5pm. This event showcases the most inspiring young music and dance talent that the Sunshine Coast has to offer.

Festuri at Lions Park on September 28 is a multi-cultural festival running from 11am to 7.30pm. There will be many performances but keep an eye out for UkeCrazy People who are a fabulous band of ukulele players.

The spectacular AVANT-GARDEn Party on September 29 celebrates all things creative including many forms of art and music in Lions Park from 11am-5pm.

The Rumba Night Carnivale runs every evening from September 28 to October 6, and the Towards Tomorrow sustainability day on September 30 are also part of a packed Fringe Festival program.
