(TRAVPR.COM) UK - June 15th, 2013 - Escape for a week - live the dream in Southern Tuscany

Why not try a holiday with a difference and live the dream in Southern Tuscany?

A former top lawyer from the North West of England has had a complete change of career, country and lifestyle - organising creative holidays in Southern Tuscany.

Ann Alexander has set up Montisi Magica offering creative breaks based in and around a beautiful medieval hilltop village standing amidst stunning countryside just half an hour south of Siena in a very unspoilt part of Tuscany.

Ann bought a house on the main street in Montisi two years ago and after entertaining family and friends came up with the idea for Montisi Magica – so that others come and ‘live the dream’.

She said: “Lots of people who came to visit me commented how incredible the area is, and that they didn’t want to leave. The village is very special and full of artists and artisans. It gave me the idea of starting a niche tour business for individuals and small groups looking for something different.”

Ann, a mother of two, who now divides her time between Cheshire and Southern Tuscany, ran a pilot in October last year to launch the business which was a huge success.

Her first group of 2013 came in mid-May. They spent a week cooking, painting, visiting Siena, tasting wines, cheeses and olive oils and enjoyed much eating and drinking!

Tricia from Manchester wrote afterwards, “I had a fabulous week with Montisi Magica. I felt at home in Montisi from the good Tuscan food and live music at the bar on the first evening to a whistle stop tour of Arezzo and Pienza via chocolate and cheese shops on the last afternoon with the activity filled cooking, painting, tasting, eating and drinking of the week between. I loved it and I will be back.”

And there are still places available later this year: w/c 31 August: a week long cookery school with Giancarlo Caldesi, of London’s Caffe Caldesi and, with his wife, Katie, author of what many consider to be the bibles of Italian cookery

w/c 14 September: a week long creative break of cooking, painting (even if you’ve not touched a paintbrush since school!), visiting Siena and other famous hilltop towns, enjoying tastings of wines, cheeses and olive oils and staying in a wonderful villa in the centre of the village with gardens and a pool overlooking stunning countryside

Ann’s visitors have been effusive not just about their experience but about her organisation.

Rob and Mary from North Wales wrote: “A most memorable and well organised experience with like-minded people. Contrasting activities, tasty dishes to create and excellent wines and cheeses to sample, in and around this picturesque village set in the wonderful Tuscan countryside. We will be back to sample a lot more!”

And if you can’t manage to get away for a week in September Ann can organise a long weekend or a week’s break anytime. Try something different!
