TEST YOUR FATE! POND SKIMMING AT WATERVILLE VALLEY RESORT

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - March 20th, 2013 - Waterville Valley, NH -.  End the ski season with a celebration of the warm weather to come on April 6th.  Come up to Waterville Valley Resort and skim across the water. You may not make it across the 100 foot pool but you will definitely be a crowd pleaser and a candidate for the “Best Wipe Out” prize!  The day will be packed full of fun starting with Pond Skimming.  Registration will be open to the first 75 brave-hearted competitors from 9-10 a.m. at the Event Table on the second floor of the Base Lodge.

This is a free to enter, for fun competition for skiers and riders of all ages.  The skimming will start at approximately 10:30 a.m. with each competitor taking two runs in the hopes of walking away with a prize and a title, not to mention bragging rights for a whole year.  Spice it up with a unique costume and put yourself in the running for the “Best Costume” prize.  Spectators or “Beach Bums,” as you will be referred to be, are welcome and will be the deciding factor for the “Beach Bum Favorite.”  Secure a spectator spot early, the first 100 spectators to arrive will receive leis. Other prizes will be awarded by style points, longest ride, and mini surfer, and 12 and under.

And relax under the sun on the Bucket’s deck for an early après party, hosted by Newcastle, or take some end of season runs before heading over to the Last Run Luau in the upper Courtyard.  Bob King and Stas will be going head to head in dueling guitar fashion from 2-5pm.  Lawn chairs are welcome, goggle tans are encouraged.
