EASTER AT FARO CAPEL ROSSO (GIGLIO ISLAND, TUSCANY) A TRAVELLER’S EXPERIENCE AMIDST PROFOUND SILENCE AND ENDLESS HORIZONS
Industry: Destinations

Easter at Faro Capel Rosso, a restored 1883 lighthouse on Giglio Island in the Tuscan Archipelago, invites travellers to experience the island’s first spring awakening in deep silence and sea views. From 3–6 April 2026, the Easter offer includes a minimum two-night suite stay, breakfast with local products, dinner inspired by Giglio’s culinary tradition, a guided visit to medieval Giglio Castello and private transfers from Giglio Porto, from €600 per person.

(TRAVPR.COM) ITALY - March 16th, 2026 - Standing at the southernmost tip of Giglio Island (Grosseto, Italy), facing Monte Argentario and nestled within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park (UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve – Tuscan Islands), Faro Capel Rosso lighthouse commands sweeping views over the open Mediterranean.

Built in 1883 by the Italian Navy, the lighthouse is distinguished by its white tower rising beside the central rectangular building, which is marked by its iconic red-and-white stripes, and by its position overlooking the sea. Since 2016, Faro Capel Rosso lighthouse has been under concession to the Mura sisters – three entrepreneurs from Florence – who led a meticulous restoration and redevelopment project completed in 2021, transforming the site into a unique hospitality destination while preserving its historical and natural heritage.

Once a beacon for sailors, the lighthouse is now a haven where guests can rediscover a sense of intimacy, almost suspended from the world, surrounded only by the power of nature.

Arrival as a rite of passage

Reaching Faro Capel Rosso lighthouse is part of the journey itself. After taking the ferry from Porto Santo Stefano to Giglio Porto, visitors cross the island by car (private or via a transfer arranged by the property) to the point where vehicles must be left. From there, the final 800 metres are covered on foot along a scenic path through the Mediterranean scrub – a ten-minute walk, to be done with light luggage, reminiscent of a short panoramic trek among wild rosemary, mastic trees, and aromatic herbs. It is a symbolic passage: a gradual detachment from daily frenzy, a deepening breath, an expanding horizon. Alternatively, private boat transfers are available, as well as helicopter transfers from Rome upon request.

Dwelling in the light, living the silence

The lighthouse houses four suites, each measuring approximately 45 square metres and created from the former lighthouse keepers’ quarters, carefully restored to retain their original layout, for a total of 14 guest beds. The renovation highlights authentic materials – original stone floors, wooden beams, granite – preserving the structure’s austere character. Every suite includes a double bedroom and a second room with two beds, ideal for couples, families, or small groups. Among the new additions is an outdoor hot tub overlooking the sea.

Life at the lighthouse also unfolds around the table, in a convivial yet intimate spirit. Each day begins with a thoughtfully prepared breakfast and ends with dinner at the in-house restaurant, where set menus give way to a cuisine guided by the rhythm of the seasons: selected local ingredients, prepared with simplicity and respect, expressing on the plate the essence and balance of the surrounding landscape.

The travel experience can be enriched with nature excursions, trekking, cooking classes featuring island ingredients, tastings among cliffside vineyards, visits to honey and extra-virgin olive oil producers, or sailing trips discovering beaches and coves accessible only by sea.

Easter 2026: the island’s first awakening
