The Aurora Day 2026 Pasidayaw Festival officially opened on February 2 in Baler, celebrating culture and tourism under the theme *“Sigla at Galak sa Kultura at Turismo,”* and featuring the world-class Baler Skatepark and inaugural rollerblade competition.

The festivities were formally unveiled this morning in a vibrant ceremony at the Capitol Grounds in Baler, ushering in nearly three weeks of celebration under the theme: “SIGLA AT GALAK SA KULTURA AT TURISMO” (Vitality and Joy in Culture and Tourism).
The ceremony marks the 47th Anniversary of the province and the 138th Birth Anniversary of Doña Aurora Aragon Quezon. As Aurora prepares for various cultural and trade events, the spotlight this week is on the sports community as Baler hosts the 1st ADC Rollerblade Competition on February 7–8.
A New Era for Sports: The Baler Skatepark
The upcoming Rollerblade and Skateboarding competitions will take place at the world-class Baler Skatepark, completed in August 2023. Spanning 6,155 square meters in Barangay Calabuanan, this PHP 39.2 million facility is a testament to the province's commitment to youth development and sports tourism.
Designed by Architect Lornel Bihasa, a member of the Taga Baler Skateboarding Community Inc. (TBSCi), the facility features a state-of-the-art layout, a 350-capacity grandstand, an administration building, and comprehensive security via eight CCTV units. The project, funded through the efforts of Aurora Rep. Rommel Angara and Senator Sonny Angara, provides a safe, professional-grade arena for athletes to reach their full potential.
“This is a dream come true for skaters in Baler. This skate park will provide a safe and accessible place for our skaters to practice and compete,” Baler Mayor Rhett Angarastated. The facility has already earned high praise from national icons, including Skate Pilipinas President Carl Sambrano and Asian Games Gold Medalist Margielyn Didal, who described it as the best of its kind in the Philippines.
The skateboarding movement in Baler traces back to the year 2000, pioneered by local enthusiasts like Roderick Andal and Johenes Angara with the early support of then Congresswoman Bellaflor J. Angara-Castillo. Today, that vision has culminated in a facility that not only serves the local youth but acts as a major draw for tourism.

- February 7–8 (8:00 AM): 1st ADC Rollerblade Competition – Baler Skatepark, Brgy. Calabuanan.
- February 12 (8:00 AM): Grand Opening ADC 2026; Bb. Aurora 2026 Sashing; Ribbon Cutting for Pistang Pasidayaw, Siempre Aurora Trade Fair, and Food Fiesta.
- February 13–15 (8:00 AM): 18th Aurora Surfing Challenge (Brgy. Sabang) and 17th Skateboarding Competition (Brgy. Calabuanan).
- February 14: Valentine Bubble & Color Fun Run (6:00 AM) and Bb. Aurora Talent Night (7:00 PM).
- February 17 (3:00 PM): Binibining Aurora 2026 Coronation Night – Baler Convention Center.
- February 19 (Grand Anniversary Day): Anniversary Mass, Pasidayaw Festival Parade, Awarding Ceremony, and the Grand Pyromusical Display at 7:00 PM.
