Pulled by a team of Alaskan sled dogs, Santa and his elves will arrive in Town Square at 3:30 p.m.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - November 7th, 2011 - On Saturday, November 26, 2011 marks the 21st annual arrival of "Santa Arrives by Dog Team" at Town Square in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire.

Pulled by a team of Alaskan sled dogs, Santa and his elves will arrive in Town Square at 3:30 p.m.  Visits with Santa and elves will then commence inside the Nordic Center, and will continue until Santa sees the last child, usually around 7 pm.  Each child will receive a small gift and candy from Santa and his elves, and parents are welcome to take photos of their children with Santa.  Hot cocoa and cookies will be on hand.  A raffle will be held for an assortment of prizes donated by Waterville Valley area businesses.

There is a suggested donation of $5 per child or $10 per family.  All proceeds will be donated to the Whole Village Family Resource Center, an initiative of Lakes Region United Way.  Whole Village Family Resource Center is located in Plymouth, NH, and is a partnership of people and agencies aimed at enhancing the lives of families and children in the region.  Visit www.wholevillage.net for more information.

At 7:00 p.m. Santa will light the tree in the courtyard in Town Square, signaling the annual fireworks display over Corcoran’s Pond.  Shops and restaurants in the Town Square will be open during the event. 

Various people and organizations are donating time and resources to support this event, including musher Lidia Dale-Mesaros, the Waterville Valley Public Safety Department, Whole Village Family Resource Center, the merchants of Waterville Valley Town Square, and Santa Claus.
