JIMINY PEAK RESORT LAUNCHES NEW SNOW SPORT PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TWO OTHER NEW ENGLAND MOUNTAINS
Industry: Ski

“We have taken the best practices of all three mountains and, with a focus on safety, instruction and fun, and we have developed a program that will build your child’s confidence while improving their skills on the snow.”

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - November 7th, 2011 - Hancock, MA- Three New England ski mountains recently announced an innovative new joint approach to teaching kids how to ski and ride called KidsRule Mountain Camp. The program will be offered exclusively at Jiminy Peak Resort, Bromley Mountain in Central Vermont and Cranmore Mountain Resort in the Mt. Washington Valley of New Hampshire. Beginning this year, the new KidsRule Mountain Camps will modernize a traditional approach while increasing the standards of how to teach kids to ski and ride.

The three mountains will focus on teaching life long skills including the mandatory use of helmets. With more than 120 years of combined experience, KidsRule Mountain Camps drew on educational techniques, distinct safety features and specially trained instructors to provide children a uniform confidence-building mountain experience.

Brian Fairbank, President and CEO of Jiminy Peak notes of the program, “We have taken the best practices of all three mountains and, with a focus on safety, instruction and fun, and we have developed a program that will build your child’s confidence while improving their skills on the snow.”

According to Fairbank, the new, combined approach is built on four main practices:

·      Focus on safety and security,

·      Specially trained teachers,

·      Dedicated learning centers,

·      Consistent and clear communication between the program and the participating families.

“I never thought I’d see three mountains come together to develop such a unique program that teaches children how to ski and ride,” said Fairbank. “It’s a program that stems from a fundamental philosophy that articulates a set of values that places the strongest emphasis on the future of skiing and riding.”

After enrolling in six lessons, students receive a Season’s Pass. So, after developing a strong baseline of skills with certified instructors, there will be the opportunity to hone their skills at no extra charge all season long. Further KidsRule lessons can be taken at a 15% discount with Season’s Pass.

The program includes lessons, helmets, hot cocoa breaks, lunch and a daylong lift ticket. Parents have the option of purchasing the newly designed helmets in charcoal or pink at a reduced cost of $29 if they do not wish to rent. The helmets are adjustable so they will last for many seasons. Lessons are available for kids of all ability levels between the ages of 3-14, and ski and snowboard rentals may be purchased for an additional $20.
