Safety, Collaboration and Fun Define New Kids Snow Sports School

Hancock, MA – Three respected ski mountains, all with strong ski school experience, have banded together to put forth their best practices in an enhanced approach to ski and snowboard instruction programs.

Beginning this year, KidsRule Mountain Camps will improve the standards of how kids are taught to ski and ride. The new program will be offered at Jiminy Peak Mountain resort, Cranmore Mountain resort, and Bromley Mountain resort.

KidsRule Mountain Camps will unite the best techniques of all three mountains, including distinct safety features, specially trained instructors, dedicated learning facilities, and consumer-focused communications to provide children and their parents a new kind of mountain experience. The KidsRule directors at these three mountains have a combined 103 years of instructional experience.

Under the management of Brian and Tyler Fairbank, the partnership between the three mountains signals a new alignment of programs and practices that place emphasis on the experience of kids.

“I never thought I’d see three mountains come together to develop such a unique program that teaches children how to ski and ride,” said Brian Fairbank, President and CEO of Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. “We have taken the best practices of all three mountains and, with a focus on safety, instruction and fun, and we have developed a program that will build your child’s confidence while improving their skills on the snow.” Fairbank added, “It’s a program that stems from a philosophy and a set of values that places the strongest emphasis on the future of skiing and riding.”

KisRule Mountain Camps are based on four main practices:

  • Focus on safety and security
  • Specially trained teachers
  • Dedicated learning centers
  • Consistent and clear communication between the program and the participating families.

According to Sherrie Bradway, Director of Snowsports at Jiminy Peak, every instructor goes through hours of training, specifically targeted at teaching children of all ages. “Parents can feel secure in knowing that their children are in the hands of someone who knows how to get kids excited while improving the skills their child needs to enjoy the mountain,” she said.

“At KidsRule Mountain Camps, we make sure every child has a helmet during their adventure with us, and helmets are included in our rental packages,” said Karen Dolan, Snowsports Director at Cranmore Mountain Resort. She added that this season, parents will have the option to purchase a custom-made KidsRule helmet for $29 instead of using the rental helmet each time. The new helmets for the program are adjustable to fit for many seasons and come in either pink or charcoal with KidsRule logos.

KidsRule participants will earn a season pass at their respective mountain after completing four lessons at Cranmore - or six lessons at either Bromley or Jiminy Peak. The intent of this offer is to encourage kids to hone skills throughout the season for no extra charge. Season Pass holders will also be eligible for 15% off KidsRule programs at their participating mountain.

The Bromley Snowsports School Director, Peter Robertson, explained how KidsFirst facilitates an easier, more convenient experience. “The dedicated learning centers at all three resorts have been designed with families in mind. From ease of registration, to a “one-stop” approach to the rental process, we’ve kept easy access and smooth operations the primary goal.”
