ONE WORLD TREKKING ADDS NEW HIMALAYAN TREKKING ADVENTURES FOR 2012
Industry: Adventure

Continues to offer the best hiking and cultural tours to the world’s greatest mountain range

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - October 15th, 2011 - Himalayan adventure travel tour operator One World Trekking (http://www.oneworldtrekking.com) announces two brand-new Nepal trekking tours for 2012, increasing to 23 their selection of unique and culturally-oriented opportunities for trekking adventure in the world’s greatest mountain range.

When booking your Himalayan trek with OWT you’ll take advantage of the reduced prices for 2012 trips.

“These two new trekking adventures represent the latest and greatest hiking opportunities in Nepal. One World continually strives to offer off-the-beaten path hikes into remote and culturally interesting regions of this beautiful country and, in 2012, this means a great value as well,” states Andy Crisconi, OWT founder and director.

With departures in the autumn of 2012, here are the new trips:

Nepal – The Tsum Valley Research Trek begins in the colorful capital of Kathmandu. Located in north-central Nepal, surrounded by giant snow-capped peaks, Tsum is one of the eight sacred valleys (called Beyuls) in the inner Hima¬layas. Saturated with Buddhist culture, the Tsum Valley offers hikers the opportunity to observe ancient Buddhist values and witness a lost way of life. Tsum valley is inhabited by Tsumbas, an indigenous community and the landscape is dotted with mani walls, chortens and kaanis (gateway chortens). This brand-new trekking journey enters a recently-opened corner of the great Nepal Himalaya. Depending on the final group size, the per person double rate starts at $2,495 and the 2012 departure date is October 7 to 27.

Nepal – NarPhu to Kingdom of Mustang Traverse wander into a very little-traveled region of the Himalayas. Hidden by swirls of mountain mist, the magnificent panorama view of Annapurna massif appears remote and forbidding. The trek destinations are the remote villages of Naar and Phu, home to about 500 Tibetans whose livelihood depends on raising yak and trading. The recent opening of NarPhu to trekkers has had little impact to the pastoral lifestyle of this area. This magical area is known to have one of the highest concentrations of snow leopards per square kilometer of anywhere in the world. The high point of the route is the generally snow-bound Teri La (18,235 feet), a pass 'discovered' by Bill Tilman in 1950. The heart and soul of this long and varied route is a spectacular week of trekking through a wild and uninhabited area between the Teri La and the Kingdom of Mustang. Depending on the final group size, the per person double rate starts at $3,615 and the 2012 departure date is September 23 to October 19.
