First stop will be at the La Tovarra River where you will get on board a motorboat and go upriver to explore the rich diversity of nature surrounding you. You can still find a good number of Huichol people around the town so just be in the lookout for people garbed in their colorful traditional attire and keep your camera ready. A visit to Palacio de Gobierno is also worthwhile for the remarkable murals housed inside.

Finally, if you love art, especially traditional art then make sure to check out Museo de los Cuatros Pueblos where you will find outstanding art work of Nayarit's four indigenous tribes. Although Puerto Vallarta is an amazing city and you may find it difficult to leave the beautiful beaches, you will get more out if your trip if you explore at least one of the nearby destinations.
