Otherwise known as the custard apple, the cherimoya is a soft, sweet fruit – its flavour a blend of banana, pineapple, papaya, peach and strawberry. Faial is the centre of cherimoya growing in Madeira and so to promote this delicious fruit, local producers have created a festival with a fruit exhibition and great entertainment.
