HISTORIC ARIZONA RANCH RETURNS TO ITS ROOTS
Industry: Activity Breaks

New for 2018, Arizona's Rancho de la Osa is adding arena based cattle work and half-day cattle drives to its list of pursuits

(TRAVPR.COM) UK - March 5th, 2018 - Based in Sasabe, Arizona, the Rancho de la Osa offers an endless list of adventures, from clay pigeon shooting and 3D archery on the 590-acre property to guided horseback adventures and fat bike riding in the nearby 120,000-acre Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge. New for 2018, the ranch is adding arena based cattle work and half-day cattle drives to its list of pursuits.

Tony Daly, Managing Director of Ranch Rider, comments, "A great opportunity for first-time riders who want to experience the lifestyle of a real Western cowhand, the cattle drives will cover mostly flat terrain where it’s easy to spot any stragglers and keep them in a tight group."

Guests will be given instruction on how to sort the herd and read the cattle’s body language in the arena before heading out into the open high desert grasslands for a hands-on taste of ranch life on a cattle drive - the landscape dotted with prickly pear cactus, ocotillos and lush desert grasses.

The cattle drives themselves will focus on the history and significance of cattle ranching in the area (the ranch once owned by cattle baron, Colonel William Sturgis in the late 1800s), and offered several times over the course of the week-long stay, the new activities will form part of a true Western heritage experience: Rancho de la Osa voted Best Heritage Guest Ranch for 2018 by True West magazine.

Seven nights from £1,469pp (two sharing) including accommodation, meals, most ranch activities, taxes and service charge, transfers and gratuities. Excludes return flight from £879pp. Year-round departures.
