ROYAL CLIFF’S DEVINE WINE CLUB EXPERIENCES ONE OF AUSTRALIA’S RENOWNED WINES

What promised to be an unforgettable evening of wine and delectable cuisine turned out to be a huge success as the Royal Cliff Hotels Group deVine wine club recently held a memorable night of gastronomic food perfectly paired with Australian wine with its “Penfolds – A Story in Every Bottle” wine dinner at the award-winning Royal Grill Room and Wine Cellar - Excellence and Heritage.

Pattaya, Thailand – What promised to be an unforgettable evening of wine and delectable cuisine turned out to be a huge success as the Royal Cliff Hotels Group deVine wine club recently held a memorable night of gastronomic food perfectly paired with Australian wine with its “Penfolds – A Story in Every Bottle” wine dinner at the award-winning Royal Grill Room and Wine Cellar - Excellence and Heritage.

The evening began with an elegant welcome cocktail reception at the Sunset Terrace Lobby and Bar where guests were warmly welcomed by members of the Royal Cliff Executive team and mingled over an exquisite selection of delicious canapés accompanied by Rawson’s Retreat Chardonnay 2016.

Afterwards, DeVine Wine Club members and wine lovers experienced a sumptuous 5-course dinner prepared by Royal Cliff's talented culinary team, along with premium wines from Penfolds, Australia’s premier wine producer.

Guests first enjoyed an appetizing salmon tartar with shaved horseradish, trout caviar, pumpernickel, green apple and dill served with Penfolds Koonunga Hill Autumn Riesling 2016.  It was followed by delicious turbot, miso, lime-beurre Blanc, sea asparagus, Coral Sea urchin and scallop croquette perfectly complemented by the Penfolds Koonunga Hill Chardonnay 2016 and mouthwatering Passion Fruit sorbet.  Wine lovers then indulged in succulent lamb shoulder prepared sous vide style for 48 hours along with herb coated lamb loin, celeriac potato puree, Brussel sprout, Cipollini tomatoes and pancetta au jus served with Penfolds Max’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2014.  Before dessert, everyone experienced the exquisite combination of flavours from baked Tasmanian Camembert, puff pastry, fig jam and frozen grapes paired with Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz 2014.  The evening capped off with delicious vanilla panna cotta, honeycomb, meringue, berries and lemon served with Penfolds Club Tawny Port NV.

Throughout the   dinner, guests also had the wonderful opportunity to explore the world of Australian Wines through the expertise and insights of Mr. Ron Batori, the President of Bangkok Beer and Beverages Co., Ltd. The night proved to be another remarkable evening of amazing cuisine and fantastic wine as everyone enjoyed the well-curated selection of beautifully balanced wines from Australia’s award-winning vineyard!

Royal Cliff’s deVine Wine Club was launched on April 28, 2001 as the visible face of the resort's enthusiasm for promoting wines and hosting wine-related events. Today, it is now Asia’s leading wine club, which hosts popular gala dinners.
