(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - June 13th, 2011 - Indian tourism is getting better with every passing moment. It can also be ascertained with the fact that Air India, governmental based airline service provider in India has entered into the BSP, bank that is responsible for paying the air tickets in Spain and Andorra. This move has been undertaken in association with APG-GA Spain that allows travel agencies through its GDS to book and issue airline tickets.

The move can also be seen in association with the recent merger with Indian Airlines, one of the leading domestic flights in India. The re-branding campaign in underway with Air India firm to strengthen its position in the aviation sector. However, it will also strengthen India Viajes in particular.

Taking into consideration the merged entity, we find that with a fleet of 136 aircraft and passengers enjoying seamless flights in domestic and international routes, it will also enhance Spanish footfalls to the Indian vicinities.
As far as current operation is concerned, flights from Delhi, Mumbai and 15 cities at various points in Europe are undertaken that also includes Frankfurt, London, and Paris.

What’s more, Air India is also set to expand its existing fleet with 8 777-200 aircraft, 17 new aircraft, and nine 777-300. All this is supported with an already existing fleet of 15 A321 and 16 A319.

On the recent development, Vasudevan Thulasidas, the managing director of Air India said "As a future member of Star Alliance, Air India will bring more value to passengers flying with airlines in the alliance built.” It will certainly cast a positive impact on India tourism with more footfalls to the Indian vicinities.
