Specialist tour operator Inspired ITALY and Christian Wolmar, one of the UK’s leading transport journalists, well known author of railway books and a lifelong skier, today announced a collaboration that will see Wolmar lead a Dolomites Ski Safari, an on-piste ski tour, travelling from mountain top refuge-to-refuge and taking in many of the famous areas that make up this vast ski region.

MONDAY 12th September 2016 – specialist tour operator Inspired ITALY and Christian Wolmar, one of the UK’s leading transport journalists, well known author of railway books and a lifelong skier, today announced a collaboration that will see Wolmar lead a Dolomites Ski Safari, an on-piste ski tour, travelling from mountain top refuge-to-refuge and taking in many of the famous areas that make up this vast ski region. 

“I first experienced the Dolomites and the Ski Safari in January 2014. I subsequently wrote about the experience for The Times and I have returned to the Dolomites every season since. Now, I want to share the wonderful range of pistes, the morning ritual of the Ski Safari fresh tracks and the dramatic settings of the Dolomites”.

The Wolmar Dolomites Ski Safari starts on January 16th 2017 and costs £1,625 per per person including airport transfers, ski hire and full area ski pass.

As well as leading 9 guests through 150 miles of Dolomite skiing, including the Val Gardena, Cortina d’Ampezzo and three World Cup pistes, the evenings are left for Christian to recount train tales, offer authors’ tips and generally while away a few hours over apres ski drinks and Tyrollean hospitality. Guests will enjoy the experience of staying in high-altitude chalets with views that are unparalleled.
