EQUATORIAL GUINEA TO HOST 2019 AFRICAN GAMES
Industry: Events

The results from Horizonte 2020 Development Plan makes Equatorial Guinea the perfect choice to host major sporting events - Victor Mooney

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - June 23rd, 2016 - Addis Abba, Ethiopia - This week, Equatorial Guinea was awarded the host country for the All African Games in 2019. The African Games are a continental multi-sport event held every four years, organized by the African Union (AU) with the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) and the Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC). Africa’s premium sporting talent will be on display for the whole continent to watch and appreciate.

Equatorial Guinea is no stranger to hosting major sporting events. Thanks to preparedness activities by Equatorial Guinea’s Ministry of Health, FIFA and WHO, over one million people gathered in Equatorial Guinea for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and were able to focus more on soccer than on fears of Ebola.

It will be an exciting time on the continent. It’s our further goal that athletes and tourists following the games will experience Equatorial Guinea – the Gateway to Central Africa, said Victor Mooney, Managing Director, Spirit of Malabo Group.

Equatorial Guinea infrastructure rivals many seen in Europe. The government’s plan to diversify its economy, has identified tourism as a key sector, added. Mr. Mooney.
