(TRAVPR.COM) NIGERIA - March 7th, 2011 - After one year of the launch of the Fleet Management Services, Avis Nigeria, a member of Avis Europe; a leading car rental company operating in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East have reviewed the services describing it as a success and a positive move in the right direction.

The Managing Director of Avis Nigeria, Kolawole Ogunbajo disclosed during the company’s Customer Forum in Lagos that the service targeted at corporate organizations has recorded huge success as clients taking advantage of the fleet management service cuts across banking, insurance, oil and gas, manufacturing, government agencies, telecommunications and the Nigerian Armed Forces.

According to him, Avis Nigeria Fleet Management Services which was introduced a year ago is the second phase of the company’s operational license. The first is the retail-end Avis Rent-A-Car services while the truck and ferry services which will be launched soon forms the third phase.

Ogunbajo also mentioned that the company is expanding its network of operations to meet the demands of clients. It currently operates from 26 business points in 10 states which includes Delta, Kano, Edo, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Enugu, Imo, Bayelsa, Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Also speaking at the event, Mfon James who is the Head of Avis Nigeria Fleet Management Services explained the benefits of the services allows organizations to reduce and control operational cost because the scheme permits companies to have a fixed monthly expenditure as compared to when such expenses fluctuate on a monthly basis, adding that the scheme is very budget-friendly with the assurance of no unforeseen cost because the maintenance is solely handled by Avis Nigeria.

James said that as part of the garland of the fleet management service, Avis provides professional advice on the number of vehicles needed, the type of vehicles clients should purchase based on the job specification, comprehensive insurance cover and taxes and tariffs.

The HR Manager, Simeon Akwuobu who spoke on Avis Nigeria chauffeurs said the Fleet management service totally removes the fear of bad drivers as Avis Nigeria makes it mandatory that existing drivers of clients are re-trained and must meet specific criteria for them to be absorbed with regards to being responsible and safety conscious.

He continued that all chauffeurs employed by the company haven pass through rigorous screening are encouraged with benefits such as life and accident insurance policies, overtime bonuses and pension scheme among others to deliver their best.

Avis Nigeria currently offers airport transfer services, Pick-up and Drop-off, well trained and uniformed chauffeur service, long and short term rentals and fleet management

In attendance at the Customer Forum were the General Manager of Avis Nigeria, Ibok Duke; Vivian Okoye, Head Customer Services and a host of existing and potential clients of the company.
