MOUNT WASHINGTON COG RAILWAY OFFERS TRAIN TRIPS THROUGH NOVEMBER

Mount Washington Cog Railway, the world’s first mountain-climbing cog railway, will continue to offer round trip train rides to the summit of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, every weekend throughout the month of November as weather permits. Trains will be departing at 10:30 and 1:30 every Saturday and Sunday.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - November 9th, 2015 - Mount Washington Cog Railway, the world’s first mountain-climbing cog railway,  will continue to offer round trip train rides to the summit of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, every weekend throughout the month of November as weather permits. Trains will be departing at 10:30 and 1:30 every Saturday and Sunday.

At Marshfield Base Station, open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm,  visitors can preview the Cog’s new documentary film in the Railway Museum, browse the gift shop and lunch on hot soups and sandwiches at Catalano’s Restaurant.

On Thanksgiving Weekend, Santa and his elves will be joining passengers for a special round trip ride up through the winter wonderland of Mount Washington. Riders can take photos of their ride with Santa and enjoy the sweeping panorama of the Presidential Mountains.

Back at Marshfield Base Station, visitors can treat themselves to complimentary hot cocoa and homemade cookies while joining in fun holiday games and activities such as “Pin the Nose on the Snowman”, send a letter to Santa, make your own ornament and more!  Hot cocoa, coffee and cookies will be available from 9:30- 4:30. Activities will be hosted from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

The Cog offers special discounts for military members, veterans and seniors on all November trains. Booking in advance is recommended for the Cog’s trains and can be done online at thecog.com or by calling 603.278.5404. November trains run weekends, departing at 10:30  am and 1:30 pm. Santa Trains depart Nov. 27,28 and 29 at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. Boarding begins 15 minutes before departure. Riders should arrive at least 45 minutes before departure times and dress warmly as the weather at the summit can be much colder than the Base Station.  The Cog is located just 6 miles from route 302 and Bretton Woods on Base Road, Marshfield Station, NH.
