Tam Dao National Park is a protected area zone in North Vietnam, 85km from Hanoi. Tam Dao town was established by French colonists in 1907 as a tranquil hill resort in northern Vietnam. The national park has diverse animal species, with 840 species in total including 64 mammal species, 239 birds species, 75 reptile species, 28 amphibian species, 434 insect species,

03 – Cat Ba National Park

04 – Hoang Lien National Park

Hoang Lien National Park – one of the important special-use forests of Vietnam – has total area of ​​29,845ha, including a high mountain system of Hoang Lien Son range, in which the Fansipan peak is of 3,143m high. Hoang Lien National Park is home to over 2,000 species of plants, 66 species of mammals, 41 species of amphibians, 61 species of reptile and 347 species of birds.

05 – Bach Ma National Park

Bach Ma National Park is a protected area in central Vietnam, near the city of Hue, covering 220 km² and comprises three zones: a strictly protected core area, an administrative area and a buffer zone. The national park has  over 350 bird species and 132 species of mammals.

06 – Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park

Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park contains the oldest karst mountains in Asia, formed approximately 400 million years ago. Riddled with hundreds of cave systems – many of extraordinary scale and length – and spectacular underground rivers, Phong Nha is a speleologists’ heaven on earth.

More than 100 types of mammal (including 10 species of primate, tigers, elephants, and the saola, a rare Asian antelope), 81 types of reptile and amphibian, and more than 300 varieties of bird have been logged in Phong Nha.

07 – Cat Tien National Park

Cat Tien comprises an amazingly bio-diverse area of lowland tropical rainforest. The 72,000-hectare park is one of the outstanding natural treasures in Vietnam, and the hiking, mountain biking and bird-watching here are the best in the south of Vietnam. Fauna in the park includes 100 types of mammal including the bison-like guar, 79 types of reptile, 41 amphibian species, plus an incredible array of insects, including 400 or so butterfly species. Of the 350-plus birds, rare species include the orange-necked partridge and Siamese fire-back.

08 – Tram Chim National Park

Tram Chim National Park is a national park in Dong Thap Muoi, has become an ideal habitat of more than 100 vertebrates, 40 species of fish, and 147 rare and precious species of birds, especially the red-head cranes. The park is created to protect several rare birds, especially the Sarus Crane (Grus antigone), a species listed in the IUCN Red Book.

09 – U Minh National Park

U Minh Thuong National Park or Upper U Minh National Park is a national park in the province of Kien Giang, Vietnam, covering approximately 80.53 km2. It boasts of over 243 species plant, 39 amphibian species and 34 species of fish, 187 bird species.
