WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH – Grab your bathing suit or costume and dive into the icy waters of Corcoran Pond on Nov. 29 during the 2nd annual Cold Turkey Plunge.

The Cold Turkey Plunge is a fundraising event to benefit the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports program, which provides athletic opportunities for persons with cognitive and physical disabilities.

At 1 p.m. on Nov. 29, participants will take to the pond, located adjacent to the Waterville Valley Town Square. Anyone looking to take the plunge is asked to raise a minimum of $50 in donations, which earns you a Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports “empowered bracelet,” an official Cold Turkey Plunge long sleeve t-shirt and a tasty cold turkey sandwich made by Chef Sean Stout of the Wild Coyote Grill.

Last year, after clearing ice measuring eight inches thick, more than 70 participants plunged and raised more than $12,000 for Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports.

This year participants are encouraged to become members of the Grand Gobbler’s Club:

  • Raise $150 and earn a $25 Waterville Valley Gift Card
  • Raise $500 and earn, in addition to the $25 Waterville Valley Gift Card, one anytime Waterville Valley Lift Pass
  • Raise $1,000 and earn and additional Waterville Valley Lift Pass
  • Raise $1,500 and earn a third Waterville Valley Lift Pass and a $25 Coyote Grille Gift Card

Other Grand Gobbler prizes will be awarded for various categories, including the individual with the most donations, team with the most donations and best costume (costumes are optional).
