BIG HALLOWEEN SAVINGS ON GRAND CANYON TOURS
Industry: Travel Offers

End-of-October specials on Grand Canyon tours have arrived. Discounts abound on trips from Las Vegas, NV, and South Rim, with some marked down by 30 percent!

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - October 29th, 2013 - Travelers planning to visit the Grand Canyon this month are in store for great prices as retailers offer a number of special Halloween promotions.

"Federal Shutdown 2013 really hurt business," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Tours, the leader in National Park tour information. "So in order to get business back on the rails tour operators are offering some fantastic deals."

In particular is the South Rim 30-minute helicopter ride. "This is Tusayan’s cheapest aerial option," Kravitz noted. "It goes from the South Rim to the North Rim and delivers all the big views. Travelers who act now can lock in this trip for a song."

The other South Rim helicopter option is the 50-minute flight. "Pricing on this flight doesn't vary much but there are deals out there now that are truly moving the needle,” said Kravitz. “We've gotten reports from our readers that certain time slots have dipped in price by 10 percent."

Las Vegas is also offering some hot discounts on canyon tours, starting with the West Rim bus tour. "This one's always been a crowd favorite," said Kravitz. "Travelers tend to take it and bundle in the Grand Canyon Skywalk, which, coincidentally, is on sale until the end of the month."

Also on Kravitz' radar is the aerial helicopter tour to the West Rim. "During summer, this tour goes from $255 to $399 per person," he noted. "I've now found it marked down to $229 on one vendor's website. That's a steal by any definition and if it fits the bill then one should book it ASAP."

The other kinds of air tours that are getting a lot of attention are airplane flights. These are available from South Rim and Las Vegas, and are a good mid-range tour option. "The airplane tour is often overlooked," said Kravitz. "Frankly, it's a superb value in terms of how much Park you see and time spent in the air."

The South Rim plane is 50 minutes in length and lets travelers see South Rim, North Rim and everything up to the Park's east boundary. "It's a remarkable flight," Kravitz said. "Planes have been totally customized for sightseeing, particularly the windows, which are oversized so nothing below gets overlooked."

The Vegas plane tour uses a similar aircraft, which can seat up to 19 people. Its flight plan takes it over Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, the Colorado River and the West Rim. "This trip is a true treasure in terms of what you get to see," Kravitz said. "If one is feeling really adventurous, I suggest landing at the top of the rim and taking a heli to the bottom."

To cash in on these Halloween specials, Kravitz recommends purchasing them on the Web. “The majority of the deals are online only,” he noted. “For the most part, none have any significant special conditions. Further, purchase a tour at the October rate and it will be good for future travel.”
