Alaska Cruises Direct today opens the books on its 2014 Alaska cruise season. Featuring the debut of the Crown Princess’ first-ever Alaska season, and small ship sailing returns with Pacific Princess doing a full season of Inside Passage voyages roundtrip from Vancouver.

Alaska Cruises Direct Announces Princess Cruises 2014 Alaska Cruise Season

Crown Princess makes its debut with first Alaska season and small ship Pacific Princess returns to cruise the Inside Passage from Vancouver.

March 14, 2012 – Alaska Cruises Direct today opens the books on its 2014 Alaska cruise season. Featuring the debut of the Crown Princess’ first-ever Alaska season, and small ship sailing returns with Pacific Princess doing a full season of Inside Passage voyages roundtrip from Vancouver.  Passengers will find a rich array of itinerary options in this popular summertime destination, including two glacier-viewing experiences on every 7-day Voyage of the Glaciers sailing – Glacier Bay National Park as well as Prince William Sound's College Fjord or at Hubbard Glacier. Star Princessdebuts from San Francisco on 11-day sailings . All total over 23 Alaska land & sea vacation options featuring both Glacier Bay and Denali National Park for the 2014 Alaska cruise season. 

In Alaska, the six-ship Princess fleet will feature the largest ship to sail Alaska for Princess, Crown Princess (3080 passengers ) sailing for its first Alaska summer, with Northbound and Southbound cruises and cruisetours from either Anchorage ( port of Whittier) or Vancouver. The fleet will offer the most balcony staterooms in Alaska, perfect for taking in the spectacular scenery, including Glacier Bay to which Princess will again take more passengers than any other cruise line. Alaska visitors can also choose from more than 23 Princess cruisetour options, all featuring the state's number one land attraction -- Denali National Park.

Cruises -- Passengers have a variety of options for exploring "The Great Land," with six ships sailing on five itineraries to more than 15 destinations. In total, the line will offer 124 Alaska cruise departures in 2014.

Voyage of the Glaciers -- The line's signature Gulf of Alaska route between Vancouver and Whittier (for Anchorage) features two glacier-viewing experiences on every sailing, with visits to Glacier Bay National Park plus either Hubbard Glacier or College Fjord. Ships also call at Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. Crown Princess and Coral Princess sail on Saturdays, Island Princess offers Wednesday departures for a total of 72 sailing choices between May 17 and September 17, 2014.

Inside Passage from Seattle -- Golden Princess and Grand Princess offer convenient Saturday or Sunday departures on two different seven-day roundtrip itineraries from Seattle along the scenic Inside Passage. Both visit Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, B.C., and passengers will enjoy dramatic glacier viewing in either Glacier Bay National Park (Golden Princess) or Tracy Arm (Grand Princess). The two ships will sail on 38 departures between May 3 and September 14, 2014.

Inside Passage from Vancouver – Pacific Princess offers a small-ship experience, sailing on a seven-day roundtrip cruise from Vancouver, taking in Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan plus glacier viewing in Glacier Bay National Park. Pacific Princess sails weekly on Tuesdays from May 13 to September 16, 2014

Inside Passage from San Francisco – Star Princess features sailings from the "City by the Bay" on 11-day roundtrip cruises. The ship offers 12 voyages from San Francisco featuring the scenery of Glacier Bay National Park, with calls at Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Victoria (with some sailings substituting Icy Strait Point for Skagway, and Tracy Arm Fjord for Glacier Bay National Park). Departures sail between May 12 and September 10, 2014.

Cruisetours -- Princess cruisetours offer passengers more than 23 itinerary options for a complete land and sea Alaska experience ranging from 10 to 15 nights. All cruisetours include a seven-day Voyage of the Glaciers sailing including a visit to Glacier Bay National Park, plus at least two nights in the Denali National Park area with stays at Princess' wilderness lodges.

Denali Explorer Alaska Cruisetours-- Princess' most popular cruisetour option, Denali Explorer packages feature multiple nights at the line's Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge and/or Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, plus the exclusive Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail service between the Whittier cruise terminal and the dramatic Denali National Park area. Most also offer the opportunity to explore Fairbanks or Anchorage.

Tours do not include any pre-planned excursions, giving travelers time to create their own experience. 3 day “”On Your Own” land tours can be purchased for as low as $299 per person, based on double occupancy, plus the cost of 7 day Alaska cruise.

Off the Beaten Path Alaska Cruisetours -- For those who want to explore Denali and beyond, these tours offer options to the Kenai Peninsula with stays at Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge or Wrangell-St. Elias National Park with stays at Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge.
