It all starts with the opening of the resort’s world-class ski area for the 2012-13 ski season on November 17, weather permitting. Then, on Saturday, November 24 , Santa Claus comes to town pulled by a team of Alaskan sled dogs. Santa and his elves will come to the Town Square on a sled, and then sit with each and every child who wants to meet the jolly old elf. Each child will receive a small gift and candy from Santa and his elves. All proceeds will be donated to the Whole Village Family Resource Center in Plymouth, NH.
Then, Santa will light the tree in the courtyard in Town Square, signaling the holiday fireworks display over Corcoran’s Pond.
Next, on December 15, kids of all ages can get in the holiday spirit with a Cookies & Snow Celebration. Cookies and treats freshly baked by local restaurants and shops will be distributed throughout the Town Square. Guests can stroll through the decorated shops and sample one of each cookie creation with their purchase of a “Cookie Coupon Book.”
Santa Claus will read a children’s story to all. A free holiday ice-skating party is scheduled, and kids can decorate a candy cottage at the Candy Cottage workshop hosted by the Recreation Department. Candy cottages will be displayed throughout the afternoon with a prize for first and second place winners.
Overnight packages are available to help guest make the most of the snow, lights, and cheer.
