(TRAVPR.COM) LONDON - October 26th, 2012 - Stanfords, the leading specialist retailer of travel guides and maps, is delighted to welcome Travel The Unknown to its flagship Covent Garden store's themed area for the duration of November.

The independent tour operator, recommended by Lonely Planet, Wanderlust and Rough Guides, will offer Stanfords' visitors bespoke travel advice to some of the planet's unspoiled hideaways and host in-store talks from destination experts until 30th November.

Travel The Unknown specialises in eco-friendly tours for smaller groups, and arranges bespoke itineraries to destinations including Burma, Colombia, Eastern Turkey and India.

To celebrate the tour operator's arrival, Stanfords and Travel The Unknown have joined forces to offer a brand-new iPad mini to one lucky winner - the details of which will be announced on Stanfords.co.uk on 1st November.

Commenting on the partnership, Chris Powell, Stanfords' Managing Director, said: "Our themed area participants, from Wild Frontiers to Exodus, have really benefitted from having a central London presence in our iconic Covent Garden store.
