(TRAVPR.COM) MALDIVES - October 24th, 2012 - Velassaru is pleased to welcome Chef Dhilmin Silva as the resort’s new Pastry Chef. Originally from Sri Lanka, Chef Dhilmin has graduated in Pastry Arts at Le Cordon Bleu in London, one of the most renowned and leading Culinary School in the world.
Before joining Velassaru Dhilmin was the Pastry Chef at Chateau Elan Winery Resort. He was also Chef Assistant for Chef Julie Walshe, for the Tate & Lyle wedding cake exhibition in 2011 with Le Cordon Bleu in London.
Being famous for his creativity and unique desserts he was among finalists of the 2011 Valrohna UK Chocolate dessert of the year. His art was recognized even by the Royal family as he gave his contribution to the remake of the cake of King George XI for Prince William’s wedding.
