KSTDC has come up with an exclusive discount of 15% for its luxury tourist train Golden Chariot. The offer is valid for all its departures scheduled in month of October and November, 2012.

(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - October 17th, 2012 - Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has announced special festive season offers for its luxury tourist train, the Golden Chariot. This Dussehra and Diwali special offer entails a flat discount of 15% on the ticket tariff of both the two journeys run by the luxury train – Pride of the South and Southern Splendour. Travelers can avail this offer for all the departures of the train falling in the month of October and November, 2012.

The offer is applicable for Golden Chariot departures dated 22nd & 29th October, and 12th & 19th November, 2012. While speaking about the response of the travelers, the managing director of KSTDC Mr. C D Dyavaiah said, “The bookings for the train in October are good. We are hopeful of reaping in profits this year”. He further added, “This is the first time we tried to have runs in these two months. We have offered a discount this time as we got some benefits from the Indian Railways”. Along with the offer tariff, KSTDC also cleared the terms and conditions according to which the travelers need to pay the service tax @3.09% extra along with the tariff. Children between 5 and 12 years can travel with just half of the train fare. The train offers three types of occupancies – Single, Double and triple, depending on which the tariff will vary.

The Golden Chariot is the first and only luxury tourist train that chugs through the south Indian region covering most of Karnataka and its neighboring states – Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Goa. The luxury train embarked on its maiden journey on March 10, 2008 under the banner of KSTDC which owns and operates the train. Over the past four years, the train has got admiration and commendation from the global travelers for its impeccable services, facilities and precisely tailored itineraries.
