Infused with enthusiasm, IRCTC - the owner and operator of Maharajas’ Express is eyeing on the train’s inaugural run, for this is the first time any luxury train in India has introduced five incredible journeys covering the royal Rajasthan, the enchanting Madhya Pradesh, the captivating Gujarat and the marvelous Agra. The train would chug from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station on Saturday, 29th September, 2012.

In the month of September, The Maharajas’ Express would cover only one round with the Indian Splendour journey, which spans over an entire week, while the entire season from September 2012 to April 2013 would witness a total of 37 rounds by the train. With its refurbished carriages and customized itineraries, the train is expecting to cater more and more travelers during the new season.

Every itinerary includes a visit to the Seventh Wonder of the World – Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh; and a jungle Safari through the wild terrains of Ranthambore National Park. The first itinerary – Indian Splendour in particular would start from Delhi, chugging through Agra, Rajasthan’s vibrant cities and conclude the tour in Mumbai. The other itineraries include 2 Golden Triangle tours and 2 pan-Indian journeys.
