The Maharajas’ Express is going to take a total of 37 rounds this season with its 5 new brand itineraries. The first journey – Indian Splendour is a short one, lasting for 3 nights and 4 days and would begin on September 29th 2012.

(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - September 14th, 2012 - Just a few days from now, the Indian luxury train - Maharajas’ Express is all set to embark on its first journey for the season 2012-13 on September 29, 2012. Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which runs the train, has introduced 5 brand new itineraries for this upcoming run season. The train would cover these 5 journeys in a total 37 rounds from September 2012 to April 2013.

Out of the 5 Maharajas’ Express itineraries, Gems of India and Treasures of India are short period journeys spanning over 3 nights and 4 days, while Indian Splendour, Heritage of India and Indian Panorama are weeklong pan-India tours. From September to April, Gems of India and Treasures of India would cover 8 journeys respectively, and the rest three would be covering 7 journeys each.

The following is a detailed chart of Maharajas’ Express schedule for the season 2012-13:

The train arrives and departs from either Mumbai or New Delhi – both buzzing metropolis that are easily connected to most parts of the world through air transport This makes it easy for the guests to book flights and arrange for pre or post trip hotel accommodation.
