The seventh annual “DominicanaModa” event, which will turn Santo Domingo into the fashion capital of the Caribbean, will be held from October 22-27. As in years past, the event will be held at the Occidental Hotel El Embajador, and will feature a very special Oscar de la Renta fashion show, and the presentation of the collection of 50 other Dominican and international designers.

Venezuelan designer Angel Sanchez will feature his latest fashion collection.

The closing event will feature designer Elie Saab, which will present for the first time its international collection in Latin America.  Dominican Fashion Week in October

“DominicanaModa” is co-sponsored by the country’s Ministry of Tourism and the National Association ofHotels and Tourism, the Tourism Cluster of Santo Domingo, American Airlines, among others.

The annual event has become the most important fashion activity in the Caribbean region, bringing together renowned designers, but also young, up-and-coming designers from the region.  The event is given ample coverage by journalists from Latin America, Europe and the United States.
