INCREASED AFRICAN MINING INVESTMENT LEADS TO SOUTH FLORIDA BOUTIQUE PRIVATE JET SERVICE TRAVEL GROWTH
(TRAVPR.COM)UNITED STATES - August 22nd, 2012 - SkyNet Aviation Group (SAG), a boutique private jet service headquartered in Boca Raton, FL, has identified Africa as offering some of the best growth prospects of any region in the world for business aircraft. One of the significant drivers of this growth is Africa’s booming mining environment.
Adam K. Hasiak, Global Private Aviation Director states that, “Africa is home to over 30 per cent of the world’s mineral resources and is increasingly attracting investment from large multinational mining corporations. With these significant industry numbers, we have been placing our resources in many West African nations.”
Mining revenue on the continent increased by over 40 percent in the last year alone and shows little sign of abating. David Zuckerman, Worldwide Private Aviation Specialist for SAG states, “With resources often found in remote locations, the continent’s land transport infrastructure can lag behind the development of the mines, leading to an increased demand for airborne alternatives, and we have continued to gain market share and identified key market strategies to place SAG private jet and air cargo service offerings in strategic West African cities.”
Through years of market research SAG has identified many strategic African nations as their target market for Air Cargo and Private Business Jet Operations; as a result SAG has brought on new Air Caro/Business Aviation specialist, Michelle Du Preez-Maffia, a South African native in order to facilitate further growth for SAG within Africa. Du Preez-Maffia states, “With many countries in Africa planning to increase spending on railways and roads over the next few years to help unlock their mineral deposits and encourage further investment. However, currently private charter air travel is often the most convenient, and sometimes the only way to transfer between locations.” Du Preez-Maffia therefore believes that “business aviation has a vital role to play in the development of Africa’s mining sector.”
SAG is well placed to benefit from this and is already making traction as a preferred provider for large scale precious metal transport and executive jet charters throughout Africa. SAG is particularly well-suited to conditions in Africa as a result of their enhanced durability, heavy payload, range and fuel-efficiency aircraft they have access to.
Hasiak, said: “Growth in demand for mineral resources from emerging countries has transformed Africa and it is fast becoming a preferred investment destination as African countries increasingly opens their doors to foreign investors.”
As the continent continues to develop, Zuckerman mentions that “we expect demand for business aircraft to grow as they provide access to remote parts of the region, cover huge distances and also help counter the limitations of the transport infrastructure. Road and rail networks in many parts of Africa are limited, making travel internally a challenge. Travelling by executive charter aircraft is not only often the quickest way to travel, but sometimes is the only option.”
