DirectRooms.com discloses that Hong Kong will be playing host to the Chinese region’s foremost exhibition of companies from the seafood industry.

(TRAVPR.COM) THAILAND - 12th August, 2010 - Asian Seafood Exhibition will connect the leading seafood distributors and suppliers with major supermarkets and exporters from all around the Asia Pacific region and Hong Kong.

The event will also see participation from some of Hong Kong’s 11,000 restaurants as they look to source the best quality produce from suppliers.

With a population of more than seven million people, there is a big demand for seafood within the region and an estimated $2.8 billion worth of fish and seafood products were imported in 2008.

Due to a declining domestic seafood industry the majority of Hong Kong’s seafood now comes from international resources.

Industry executives attending the event will be a representation of owners, proprietors and purchasing managers looking to make contact with the best suppliers of fresh, frozen and packaged seafood products.

The show will run for three days from 7th to 9th September 2010 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wanchai district.

The exposition will be held alongside “Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong 2010” which is the region’s leading dining and bar show attracting more than 8,000 buyers each year.

Due to the number of people expected to attend both events demand for a hotel Hong Kong closest to the exhibition centre is likely to be higher during the three days of the show.

Entry to the show is free for qualified seafood industry professionals.
