LUXURY BOUTIQUE HOTEL DEEP BLUE, ON COLOMBIA'S PROVIDENCIA ISLAND, ANNOUNCES OPENING
Industry: Hotels

Ecoteles Colombia, a British-Colombian managed company, today announced that its stunning new luxury hotel Deep Blue has opened on the Colombian Caribbean island of Providencia.

(TRAVPR.COM) COLOMBIA - July 26th, 2012 - “It has taken close to 2 years of remodelation work, but just over a week ago we finally opened,” says Christopher Hardyment, the company’s British co-director. “The guests we have had to stay this month have all commented on how stunning the hotel is looking and all seem to be enthralled by the food and our stunning the seaside location. Our challenge now lies in training up our staff to a five star standard.”

Deep Blue is a 12 room luxury boutique hotel with a spectacular location on the edge a National Park dotted with idyllic islands, coral reefs and turquoise waters. All rooms have sea views, though the views from the infinity edged private whirlpools on the balconies of the Luxury Suites are particularly breathtaking. “Everyone gasps upon first seeing the views from the terraces and balconies. The views really are out of this world,” Hardyment says.

Most visitors come to relax amidst the tranquil surroundings, but the hotel also organizes all sorts of boat excursions, a favourite being the Robinson Crusoe Tour. “The idea behind our Robinson Crusoe Tour is that guests catch their own lunch then we organize them a gourmet fish barbecue on a remote beach,” explains Hardyment. “After lunch we either take them to idyllic little uninhabited Cayes or we go snorkelling with sharks on the barrier reef.”

Other activities possible locally include lazing around on some of the most unspoilt beaches in the Caribbean, scuba diving the world’s third largest barrier reef, kayaking, sailing and hiking through the island’s rainforest interior.

Deep Blue opened in July 2012 and is currently offering 25% off all stays of 3 nights or more during August. To visit the island of Providencia, one must fly from neighbouring San Andres Island, which in turn is connected by flights to Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Cartagena and Panama City.
