(TRAVPR.COM) UAE - July 26th, 2012 - StayWell is delighted to advise that it has recently opened an office in the UK and is working together with its strategic partner, Seven Capital, to identify suitable hotel development opportunities in the region.

StayWell’s first UK hotel will be the Park Regis Birmingham for which StayWell has secured a 30 years long term management agreement.  Due to open in 2014, Park Regis Birmingham, currently under construction, overlooks the Five Ways roundabout and in close proximity to The Bullring, The ICC, Brindleyplace, The Mailbox and a number of restaurants and bars.

Park Regis Birmingham will be of 4 star quality with extensive facilities including 272 guest rooms, lobby lounge and bar, rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar, library, gymnasium, spa and business centre.

StayWell is also currently negotiating a management agreement for an upmarket hotel being developed in London as well as exploring other potential opportunities in the UK including development sites and existing properties in Manchester and Edinburgh.

Mr Simon Wan, CEO of StayWell has commented that launching into the United Kingdom, starting with Park Regis Birmingham, has been part of the group’s strategy for some time and sees the Birmingham property as an appropriate opportunity to enter the UK market with a product that fits with the Park Regis brand and vision.

“This is a massive step forward for StayWell and we are elated to have such a quality accommodation product added to our portfolio. Our partners in the UK, Seven Capital, have identified a number of other opportunities in the region which is very exciting for us and we hope to announce further additions to our portfolio very soon,” he said.

StayWell plans to leverage off its established brands and properties in Australia, Singapore and Dubai. StayWell’s current expansion strategy also includes further new hotels in Europe and Northern Asia, with a particular focus on India and China.
