Cascada Expediciones' EcoCamp Patagonia Wildlife Safari program in Torres del Paine now includes cycling

(TRAVPR.COM) CHILE - July 11th, 2012 - Cascada Expediciones is launching a new version of its acclaimed Wildlife Safari program in Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia. Operated by EcoCamp Patagonia, Cascada’s sustainable lodge in the heart of the park, Safari adventurers enjoy guided treks and wildlife excursions by day and sleep in EcoCamp’s geodesic domes at night.

In addition to the variety of hiking excursions, the 2012/2013 season welcomes the addition of bicycles to the program!  EcoCamp guests have always been able to choose between daily easy and active excursions on Wildlife Safari and now there is an additional third option for those keen to experience cycling in the park’s eastern sector.

On Mondays and Thursdays guides head the cycle ride to Laguna Azul (approximately 20kms from Estancia Laguna Amarga over mixed terrain) where a local Patagonian barbecue on the lakeshore is enjoyed, overlooking the majestic Torres in the distance.

The cycle ride back to Ecocamp is optional - anyone who is happily tired after the journey and barbecue is welcome to travel back in the support van (accompanying the group at all times on the outward journey). On Sunday Safari travellers have the option to cycle to Seron, along the first part of the Torres del Paine Circuit on the eastern side of the Paine massif. 

Active excursions on foot include trekking to the base of the Torres and up through French Valley, while easy excursions include the Grey glacier navigation and nature watching on the Fauna Trail. In addition to being able to choose between the active, easy or cycling option everyday, guests on Safari can also choose between an heated Suite Dome or cozy Standard Dome with shared bath rooms at EcoCamp Patagonia.

All guests dine together in Ecocamp’s Community Domes at night, enjoying an aperitif in the bar before sitting down with their group and guide to enjoy a 3 course Patagonia fusion menu.  The flexible and sociable nature of EcoCamp’s Wildlife Safari means that it is ideal for families, couples, individuals and groups of friends, all of whom want to share an unforgettable experience in the wilderness with new friends.
