Are rich video apps the next big thing for iphone travel guides ?
(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - 24th July, 2010 - Ants Media Group has dipped it's toe in the iPhone app world by producing a video guide of the famous San Fermin Fiesta in Pamplona.
The app contains 40 mins of video focussing on key events that occur during the running of the bulls.
"We wanted to build an app that really showed what the festival is about, something that takes full advantage of the iPhone and iPads video capabilities" says MD Justin Weily.
We didn't want people to have to stream the video content because that would require a strong signal so the video is contained within the app.
This has a few drawbacks - mainly that people have to download it at home or at work, but in the end the user experience is worth it.
Ants Media worked with TOMSOFT to produce the app and there are several other 'travel related' offerings in the pipeline.
"We think this is an exciting time for online video producers that think outside the box (pardon the pun) and we plan to build more travel related apps in the near future."
