Recent Reader Survey Finds Family and Foreign Travel Top the List in 2010

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED STATES - ^20th July 2010 - Subscribers to Your Travel Insider, one of four e-newsletters published by Thomas, Townsend & Kent (TTK), were recently surveyed about what they’re looking for in travel and why they read Your Travel Insider. Survey results indicate that subscriber interest in family and foreign travel tops the list in 2010 as well as focus on travel deals and learning about new destinations.

Of those surveyed 88% reported they’re currently in the process of planning, or have already booked, a vacation or getaway within the next six months. Good news for advertisers, 32% of survey responders state that they’ve booked a trip from a travel partner featured in Your Travel Insider.

“We’re thrilled that the survey results confirm what we already thought – readers rely on Your Travel Insider as a trusted source for travel planning” stated TTK Vice President, Angela James Vogel. She said “Based on open rates and click through rates we see from the enewsletter and targeted e-mail campaigns it’s logical that our readers are following through and booking hotel stays, cruises, tours and more.”

Family and foreign travel (with over 60% of survey participants citing interest in these types of travel) led the way followed by Beach Vacations, Spas and Resorts, Tours, Urban Vacations and Adventure Travel. When asked why they read Your Travel Insider, 61% reported deals and special offers followed by 20% who look to Your Travel Insider for information on new destinations.

This new data has been released based on responses to a reader survey emailed out in May 2010 to subscribers of Your Travel Insider. Your Travel Insider an audience of almost 400,000 avid travelers who actively research travel options.
