The Royal Highland Show come to Edinburgh again on the 21st June

(TRAVPR.COM) SCOTLAND - June 18th, 2012 - The Royal Highland Show is one of the biggest events in Edinburgh each year attraction in the region of 200,000 visitors. It is the largest annual agricultural event in the UK and it provides a fun day out for family’s and tourists.

The show is held at Ingliston which is a few miles outside the city centre of Edinburgh, close to Edinburgh Airport. The show lasts for a total of 4 days and this year it runs from 21st June until the 24th June.

There is a mix of Entertainment, good food and competitive competitions that take place over the four days providing those who attend with an enjoyable day out.

Food: At the food hall you will find a range of samples of some of the best food that Scotland has to offer such as Mackies Ice Cream and Walkers Shortbread. There is also a Food & Drink Cookery Theatre which has 30 demonstrations from some of the top chefs from around Scotland.

Music & Dance: Entertainment is provided in the form of numerous musical acts with over 50 different bands and a range of music which varies from Rock to Popes and Drums.
Competition: There are around 5000 animals from all over the UK at the show and these are judged in different categories over the 4 days. Animals on display include Shetland Ponies, Highland Cows, sheep and Cattle.

Shopping: The show has a wide range of items for sale and you can pick up anything from a new quad bike or a Spa bath! There are also a range of smaller items such as a crafts zone, gardening accessories and horse riding accessories.
