Hotline Travel Service, representing Best American Destinations which manages the marketing and public relations for the Hualapai Tourism and Grand Canyon Resort Corporation, have announced details of two exciting activities aimed at family holiday makers, action adventurers and nature lovers.
(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - 12th May 2010 - New to the activity programme in 2010 are scheduled 30-minute flights in a fixed-wing airplane which takes holiday-makers soaring through the dramatic Burnt, Pearce, and Horse Flat Canyons dominating the legendary Colorado River. Experienced pilots navigate the high spots of this ancient natural wonder and during the flight, narrate stories and legends passed down through generations of the Hualapai Tribe who have lived there for centuries.
Last month saw the seasonal launch of the popular full-day whitewater rafting activity which attracts hundreds of vacationing adventurers and thrill-seekers every year. Owned by the native Hualapai Tribe, the Hualapai River Runners are trained to the exacting standards of the Grand Canyon National Park and closely supervise their charges. Starting out from the Hualapai Lodge on historic Route 66, passengers are seated in eight-seat rafts specially crafted to traverse the rapids of the Colorado River. The day’s programme takes in thrilling rapids, an optional walk to the stunning Travertine Falls, open-air lunch on the riverbank, and after more rapids, concludes at the bottom of Grand Canyon West with a dramatic 4,000 high helicopter ride to the top of the canyon.
Comments Hotline Travel Services’ Managing Director, Ziva Werber: “There has never been a better time to experience the spectacular beauty of this ancient land and the famed hospitality of the Hualapai Tribe. Grand Canyon West is just a short helicopter or plane ride from the bright lights of Las Vegas, is easily reached by car, and is a great way to wind down and experience open nature at it’s most raw and powerful. The new 30-minute flight over the canyons allows visitors to book a morning or afternoon excursion, if time is limited, and still treasure an experience of a life-time.” Visitors can view a complete list of activities, book reservations, and get directions at www.hualapaitourism.com or by calling Hotline Travel Service on Tel: 020 8906 8989 or emailing: hualapaitourism@hotels-hotline.com
