Top Asian golfers will be competing in the Singha Pattaya Open from March 22nd to 25th 2012.

(TRAVPR.COM) UK - February 10th, 2012 - This year's ASEAN PGA Tour will be commencing in March 2012 when the Singha Pattaya Open takes place in Thailand.

To be held at Pattaya's Burapha Golf Club, the competition runs from March 22nd to 25th 2012 and is the first of ten golf events taking place across Asia over the coming months.

Co-organised by the All Thailand Golf Tour, the open will see players competing for a prize pot of $50,000 (£31,500), with talented pros such as Wisut Artjanawat, Nicholas Fung and Rory Hie all taking part in the 2011 edition.

The postponement of the Bali International Pro Am, which was originally planned for the beginning of March but has now been put back to May, means the Singha Pattaya Open will be the curtain-raiser for this year's tour.

In total, $640,000 will be up for grabs over the course of the season, making it the highest-stakes tournament since the ASEAN PGA Tour was introduced back in 2007.

After Pattaya, the tour will include competitions in Malaysia, Indonesia and Laos, culminating at the Sabah Masters in November.
