(TRAVPR.COM) THAILAND - January 17th, 2012 - This is the 38th annual Run The Hague event and there are several events included under the umbrella of the run. Participants may enter the ABN AMRO Bank Half Marathon, the Dunea 10K Walk, the West 5K Run, the ABN AMRO Youth Run, the Ernst & Bobbie Kinderloop, the School Loop, the Business Runs, and the Aramco Student Runs. The school runs are divided into the categories of primary school and secondary school. The main difference between the different types of runs is the distance traversed. These races are under the guidelines of the Dutch Athletics Union.

Each year 8,000-school children take part in the event, coming from over 80 schools.

The race route starts in The Hague and continues into Scheveningen, from which it goes through New Parklaan, before finishing on the Malieveld. There are many scenic stretches along the way, and though most spectators choose to wait at the finish line, there is nothing stopping visitors from positioning themselves on the sidelines along the route.

This event is a local favourite but it also carries much international appeal. People from other countries often visit The Netherlands to take part in this event.
